Benighted

Benighted is a French band from Balbigny from the region Rhône -Alpes. The quintet plays Death Grind, a combination of Death Metal and Grindcore.

Band History

Benighted was founded in May 1998 by members of the bands Dishumanized, Darkness Fire and Osgiliath. They played a few concerts to gain notoriety and worked on their first self-produced album Benighted. In 2000 Plaza Records took over the production of the first album, gained good reviews with the Benighted in the underground press. January 2001, they joined with Adipocere Records a record deal and the label took over the distribution of the first and the production of other albums.

During the recordings from August 2001 on the second album psychosis chart left the band because his technical skills no longer met the increasing demands of the band. As a replacement Rémi Aubrespin was taken. Following the album's release April 2002 was followed by tours with Carcariass, Furia and Rain.

With the recording of the third album Insane Cephalic Production in December 2002 Rémi left the band due to private problems. The photos were taken August 2003 in the coal cellar studio in Seeheim. In August 2005 the fourth album was recorded in Identisick coal cellar studio. In February 2006, Fred Fayolle left the band as a replacement jumped Kikou. On February 14, 2014.
