Benjamin Goodrich

Benjamin Franklin Goodrich (* November 4, 1841 in Ripley, New York, † August 3, 1888 in Akron, Ohio ) was an American industrialist, the rubber industry, and founder of the Goodrich Corporation.

Childhood and youth

BF, as he was known, was born in Anson and Susan Goodrich. He received training as a doctor and earned his doctoral degree at Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio.

Professional activity

In the American Civil War was B. F. as a surgeon on the part of unionists. After the war, B. F. met a licensing agreement with Charles Goodyear, and earned his business partner JP Morris Hudson Rubber Company in Melrose, New York. 1870 drew B. F. to Akron, Ohio, where he founded the B. F. Goodrich, which developed into a major player in the tire industry. Thus, for example, designed of radial tires from a company employee.
