Bent Fabric ( born December 7, 1924 in Frederiksberg), Bent Fabricius - Bjerre actually, is a Danish pianist and composer.

Life

From a young age to Bent Fabricius - Bjerre operated as a jazz musician and his band made ​​numerous recordings with the Swedish Metronome Records, who were among the first jazz records in Scandinavia. After the Second World War, he studied at the Royal Danish Academy of Music for three years under the piano. He then founded a music magazine publisher and continued playing in various jazz and dance bands. In addition, he worked as a professional composer, where he moved more and more to popular music from jazz. He composed over the years, the music for a number of Danish films. In 1950 he took over the record label Metronome and to date he has worked as a music producer.

Soon he got his own show on Danish television Omkring et flygel ( Around the piano), to which he invited musical guests and played himself. A special feature was that of his own compositions ( under the pseudonym Frank Bjorn ) signature tune of the mission which he afforded to the conclusion together with his guest.

This melody was then in their international publication under the title Alley Cat to 1962 also a worldwide hit.
