Bente Kraus

Bente Kraus ( born February 21, 1989 in Berlin ) is a German speed skater. She is a specialist for the long haul.

Bente Kraus Sports soldier and lives in Berlin. It started up in 2005 for the Sport Club Berlin, since for polar bears Juniors Berlin. By 2008, she was trained by Alfred Kraus, then by André Hoffmann and since 2010 by Thomas Schubert. She won three German league title as a junior or U23 in the area. In the team pursuit, they also won the 2008 Vice World Champion title at the Junior World Cup in Changchun.

For the 2010/11 season Kraus debuted in Heerenveen to kick off the season in the Essent ISU World Cup and finished sixth in the B group than 3,000 meters. The highlight of the season was the speed skating all-around European Championship 2011 in Klobenstein, when she was 18. At the German Open in Inzell she won the all-around. In Heerenveen Kraus was seventh in her first race in the A group with Isabell East and Katrin Mattscherodt in the 2011/12 season in the team pursuit. The ISU World Single Distance Championships 2012 in Heerenveen, she finished in 13th place over 5000 meters. A year later, she missed in Sochi with the team in fourth place when just a medal, she was also on Eighth and Seventh 3000 over 5000 meters. In the 2013/14 season Kraus succeeded in qualifying for the 2014 Olympic Winter Games in Sochi.

National Kraus won so far two German runner-up and was five times third parties.
