Benvenuto Tisi

Benvenuto Tisi Garofalo (* 1481 in Ferrara, † September 6, 1559 in Ferrara, Benvenuto Tisi actually, called Il Garofalo ), was an Italian painter.

Garofalo learned since 1491 when Domenico Panetti in Ferrara and in 1498 went to the wanderings which led him to Boccaccio Boccaccini in Cremona. In January 1499 he left this secretly and went to Rome, where he is said to have the Florentine Giovanni Baldini connected. 1501 he moved to Bologna, where he stayed with Lorenzo Costa two years, but returned in 1504 returned to Ferrara and worked here for several years with the brothers Dossi Battista Dossi Dosso Dossi and together.
