Berardo Collection Museum
The Museu Berardo Coleção is a museum of modern and contemporary art in the Portuguese capital Lisbon. It was opened on 25 June 2007 at the Centro Cultural de Belém and houses the art collection of José Berardo.
The program of the museum covers important movement of the visual arts of the 20th and 21st centuries in Europe and America, such as surrealism, pop art, hyper-realism, minimalism and conceptual art. A special focus is the modern and contemporary art in Portugal.
In addition to the permanent exhibition of the work of about 1,000 comprehensive collection Berardo temporary exhibitions. Founding director, Jean- François Chougnet, since April 2011, Pedro Lapa director of the museum. With more than 2.6 million visitors since 2007, it is among the 50 most visited museums in the world.
