Berchtesgaden Hauptbahnhof is the station of the Bavarian market town of Berchtesgaden - Berchtesgaden and making it the smallest municipality in Germany with a central station. History

On 29 May 1886, the construction of the railway Freilassing - Berchtesgaden has been approved by the Bavarian parliament. The Berchtesgaden train station was built next to the Saline Frauenreuth.
