Bergenhus Fortress#Haakon.27s Hall

The Håkon's Hall is a building in the royal court in Bergen ( Norway). The building is owned and stands on the site of the fortress Bergenhus.

History

It was built by King Håkon Håkonsson in the years 1247-1261. The hall is said to have been the traditions after the first time, on 11 September 1261 to the wedding of the son of Håkon Håkonsson, later also known as Magnus Lagabøte, used. The Håkon's Hall was used during this period mainly as a royal residence and the Festhalle.
