Berlin-Müggelberge TV Tower

The TV Tower is a Müggelberge unused for radio purposes is 31 meters high tower stump on the Müggelbergen in the southeast of Berlin. He should be the TV tower of Berlin originally. History

When in 1954 was begun with the construction of the television tower, had been overlooked, that he might be a threat for the airport Berlin- Schönefeld approaching aircraft. On 13 December 1955, the building was set for this reason. The plan was a height of 130 meters with an observation deck at 70 meters.

The tower stump was later used by the Ministry of State Security as a monitor system. Today he serves Deutsche Telekom AG as radio relay node and transmits a radar dome on its top.

In addition to the Fernsehturm Berlin - Müggelberge is still a 64 meter high steel framework tower with antennas for radio relay and the non-public land mobile radio service.
