Berlin State Museums
The National Museums in Berlin are one of the Prussian Cultural Heritage Foundation of the federal government and all provinces of common, shared Museum Association in Berlin ( see also Museums in Berlin). They were led by 31 October 2008 by General Peter- Klaus Schuster, the 1 November 2008 Michael Eissenhauer followed in office.
The National Museums in Berlin include 15 collections at five locations and four research institutes:
- On the Museum Island Berlin Pergamon Museum ( Middle East Museum, Museum of Islamic Art, Collection of Classical Antiquities ) and the Central Archive of the National Museums in Berlin
- Bode Museum ( Sculpture Collection and Museum of Byzantine Art, Numismatic Collection )
- Alte Nationalgalerie
- Altes Museum ( antique collection )
- Neues Museum (Egyptian Museum and Papyrus Collection, Museum of Prehistory and Early History )
- In Culture Forum picture gallery
- Museum of Decorative Arts
- Prints and Drawings (collection of drawings and prints )
- Art Library - National Museums in Berlin
- New National Gallery
- Museum Berggruen
- Museum of Photography / Helmut Newton Foundation

On 31 October 2012, the Archaeological Center of the National Museums was opened in the Scholl -Straße.
