Bernard Accoyer

Bernard Accoyer ( born August 12, 1945 in Lyon ) is a French politician. He is a member of the conservative UMP and was dated 26 June 2007 to June 19, 2012 President of the French National Assembly. Accoyer officiates also as Mayor of Annecy- le -Vieux.

Life

Bernard Accoyer is a trained specialist in ear, nose and throat medicine.

In 1981 he became a member of the Rassemblement pour la République (RPR ), which later became the UMP, the Accoyer heard today. His political career began with his election as Mayor of Annecy- le -Vieux in 1989. This office he practices until today.

1992 Accoyer was elected to the General Council of the department of Haute -Savoie, where he remained until 1998.

He was for the first constituency in Haute -Savoie elected to the National Assembly and confirmed in all subsequent elections in 1993. From 2002 he was first deputy chairman of the Group of UMP in the National Assembly, from 2004 then Chairman. Even before the 2007 General Election he announced his candidacy for the presidency of the National Assembly for the upcoming legislative session. In the nomination process of the UMP he won against the former President Patrick Ollier and was elected to the inaugural session of the 13th National Assembly on 26 June 2007 with 314 votes as President of the National Assembly. His socialist counter- candidate Marylise Lebranchu reached 216 votes. Accoyer candidate for the presidency of the 14th National Assembly, but was defeated with 185 votes Claude Bartolone (298 votes), which was proposed by the socialist majority faction.
