Bernardo Filipe Governo

Bernardo Filipe Governo OFM Cap ( born January 21, 1939 in Macuse, † October 20, 2013 ) was Bishop of Quelimane.

Life

Bernardo Filipe Governo joined the Order of Friars Minor Capuchin and received on 4 October 1969, the ordination.

Pope Paul VI. appointed him on 31 May 1976 for the Bishop of Quelimane. The Apostolic Delegate in Mozambique, Francesco Colasuonno, donated to him on 10 October of the same year, the episcopal ordination; Jaime Pedro Gonçalves were co-consecrators, Coadjutor Bishop of Beira, and Alberto Setele, Bishop of Inhambane.

On March 10, 2007, Pope Benedict XVI. be pre- mounted for health reasons in resignation.
