Bernward Koch

Bernward Koch ( born January 23, 1957 in Siegen) is a German musician and composer. His main instruments are piano and keyboards, further he plays percussion, electric bass, guitar and drums.

Career

Bernward Koch began at the age of 12 years playing the trumpet, with 15 he received classical piano lessons, learned at the same time self-taught drums, electric bass and guitar and played in first bands. Early 20s he started at the Cologne Music Academy to study and finished at the same time regularly several jazz / rock / pop at seminars ( "Jazz " courses ) at the Akademie Remscheid, on Weikersheim, the education center Old Melle and the University of Bremen (including teaching Prof. Sigi Busch). While he was live on tour in various jazz - rock bands, instrumental compositions were at home in the home studio with a relaxed, pictographic character.

In 1989, he signed his first record contract with a special label for a solo project. So far, nine solo albums have been released under his name, are successful especially in the U.S. and Asia. He was represented several times in the American Billboard - New Age charts and is on numerous CD compilations, including on charity compilations along with Sting, Bonnie Riatt, Al Jarreau or Ottmar Liebert ( U.S. hit: " Ever Returning " from the album FLOWING ).

The Music

His brother Christoph Koch also contributes with acoustic guitars (mostly 12string ) and percussion with. Projects
