Berta Zahourek

Bertha Zahourek or Berta Zahourek, after marriage Blaha ( born January 3, 1896 in Vienna, † June 14, 1967 ) was an Austrian swimmer.

At the Olympic Games in Stockholm in 1912 for the first time were swimming competition for women on the program. On July 8, Zahourek eliminated in the 100 - meter freestyle competition at the second heat. On July 15, 1912 Margarete Adler, Klara milk, Josephine Sticker and Bertha Zahourek won as the final swimmer bronze medal in the 4x100 -meter freestyle relay behind the squadrons from the United Kingdom and Germany. Thus, the four swimmers were the first Austrian women, who won an Olympic medal.
