Berthold Furtmeyr

Berthold Furtmeyr was a miniature painter of the 15th century. He is 1470-1501 detectable as citizens of Regensburg.

1470 we find his name in the inscription of the Old Testament, the two volumes were written in 1468 by G. Rorer and provided 1470-1472 with miniatures. Furtmeyr contributed here besides numerous small opaque color images with various initials and tendrils. He was also responsible for the decoration of a five-volume missal, which is considered a major work Furtmeyr. The work of Archbishop Bernard of pipe was completed in 1481-1482 and is now in the Bavarian State Library in Munich.
