Bertil Almqvist

Bertil Almqvist ( born August 29, 1902 in Ulriksdal in Solna, Sweden, † May 16, 1972 in Stockholm, Sweden) was a Swedish children's book author, illustrator and cartoonist newspaper.

Life

Almqvist studied both at Stockholm University and at the University of Uppsala in 1924 and 1925, literary history and art history, he commenced his studies at the Figge Fred Eriksson's painting school in Stockholm. He then worked as a draftsman for several Swedish newspapers, the media group Bonnier belonging to Dagens Nyheter, the morning newspaper Stockholms - Tidningen and Aftonbladet. Almqvist was married in first marriage to the writer Anna -Lisa Almqvist, in a second marriage with the artist Gunborg Ranstad. He worked from 1926 to 1971 over the years.
