The BorgWarner BERU Systems GmbH (until December 2009: BERU AG) is an automotive supplier headquartered in Baden-Württemberg in Ludwigsburg. It belongs to a world market share of over 40% for diesel engine glow plugs into one of the world's leading suppliers. History

Beru was founded in 1912 by Friedrich Julius Behr and Albert Ruprecht as " auto- valves and BERU Kühlerfabrik Behr & Ruprecht, Ludwigsburg " with the corporate objective "production & distribution of technical specialties ." Beru was listed as a public company since October 1997. In 2005, Beru was taken over by the U.S. company BorgWarner through the acquisition of a majority shareholding. Then in 2009 it was renamed the BorgWarner Beru Systems after the acquisition of 100 % of the capital and subsequent delisting ( delisting ) and the conversion into a limited company.

2011 sold BorgWarner tire pressure monitoring systems division to Huf Electronics.

2012 sold BorgWarner the spark division to the American company, Federal- Mogul.
