Besni

Besni is a town and a district in the Turkish province of Adiyaman in Southeast Anatolia. The city has Besni 29,102 and the county 81 304 inhabitants ( 2010). After the Turkish Republic was proclaimed in 1923, was Besni to 1933 with Gölbaşı, which belonged to Besni then, a district of Gaziantep Province. From 1933 it was part of Malatya until it finally became a district of Adiyaman, which in 1954 became a province. Besni located in the southwest of the province and borders the provinces of Sanliurfa, Kahramanmaras and Gaziantep.
