The Best Off Skyranger is an ultralight aircraft from the French manufacturer Best Off Aircraft.

History

The Best Off Skyranger was designed in the 1990s by French designer Philippe in Toulouse Prevot. Between 1994 and 1998, approximately 200 copies of this aircraft were manufactured by the company Synairgie under license. Today, sold as a kit aircraft from the manufacturer Best Off is sold, the parts are mostly built from the Ukrainian company AEROS. He is currently produced in versions Swift, V max and V Fun depending on, inter alia, in the span of the wing and the engine. Later series of the aircraft have an enlarged rudder and an additional stabilizing fin under the hull. The latest version of Skyrangers, the Nynja, has a number of aerodynamic refinements, a modernized cockpit and rounded plastic panels in the trunk area.

Construction

The Best Off Skyranger is a high-wing monoplane with a fuselage, which has a rectangular cross section and is carried out in tubular construction. To build aluminum tubes made ​​of alloys 2017T3 2024T3 and are used almost exclusively linear, which are mounted by means of screws secure connections. This design allows a reproducible production quality is achieved even under the conditions of amateur construction. The fabric covering is made of Dacron or optionally X -LAM. The fabric is accurately pre- sewn by the manufacturer and is installed and tensioned after the completion of the tubular structure. The supporting surface consists of a tubular lattice frame. The airfoil is produced by form slats, which are inserted in pockets in the fabric covering. The properties of this unusual aircraft for Three-axis profile were measured in 1994 in Toulouse in the wind tunnel. For space-saving slope Aryans, the wings can be folded optional. The tail surfaces are not profiled and braced with steel cables. The oars are not balanced and are operated by cables. The ailerons are differentiated. To control a mounted between the two seats joystick is employed. The aircraft has flaps that can be manually adjusted in 3 positions (0 °, 10 ° and 20 °). The drive comes, depending on the version, a Rotax 503, Rotax 582, Rotax 912 or Jabiru 80cv used, not all of these engines are also approved in Germany.
