Bézu-la-Forêt

Bézu- la -Forêt is a commune with 259 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Eure in the Haute-Normandie region. It belongs to the arrondissement Les Andelys and the canton of Lyons- la -Forêt.

History

Bézu- la -Forêt is the Carolingian Palatinate " Basiu ". Charles the Bald stayed here several times, King Carloman died on 6 December 884 in the forest of Basiu in the wild boar hunt.

At the beginning of the 14th century originated in Bézu the royal manufactory for flat glass.
