Bibimbap

Bibimbap is a popular Korean dish which is prepared with rice and various vegetables, some beef, a raw or fried egg and gochujang ( a chili paste). The name comes from Bibimbap bapeul bibida ( 밥 을 비비다 ), which means as much as " rice stir " or " mixed rice ". It is still served unmixed and before eating with a spoon, with which it is also eaten by stirring. For this, a light soup and often more side dishes are served that are eaten with chopsticks.

Depending on the region, there are different recipes and ingredients. Bibimbap from Jeonju is considered a delicacy eaten there but on the entire Korean Peninsula. A variant is the Dolsot Bibimbap ( 돌솥 비빔밥, dolsot = stone pot ). Its preparation is not significantly different from normal bibimbap, but it is served in a hot stone pot. Thus, the feed is further heated and fried while eating.
