Bibowee

The Bibowsee is a lake in the municipality of Bibow in Mecklenburg -Vorpommern in the Sternberg Lake District.

The lake was created in the Pomeranian season of Weichseleiszeit between Sander and Haupteisrandlage the ground moraine of the maximum Eisvorstoßes.

The eponymous place Bibow located on the southern shore of the lake. On the north bank of the country road leads 31 of Ventschow by Warin. There are the Bibower districts Hasenwinkel and Nisbill. The Bibowsee is managed by a fishing and processing plant from Dabel. Fishing is possible.

The Bibowsee is surrounded by a belt of reeds, the banks partly covered with forest. The reed provides, among others, the endangered Great Bittern ( Botaurus stellaris ) retreat, which has stable stocks here.
