Bickenbach ( Bergstr ) Train station ( until 1932 Bickenbach station ( Hess) ) is the only station in the municipality Bickenbach in Hesse.

History

In 1846 the Main-Neckar Railway, which connects Frankfurt and Heidelberg Main Station, opened. Initially, only a few stops were planned. But other stations or stopping points were opened 1848-1888 yet, including in Bickenbach and Erzhausen. The design of the station to originate from Darmstadt city architect Georg Moller.

In December 1894 started the construction of a branch line from Bickenbach in the neighboring municipality of Seeheim- Jugenheim. In July 1895, the railway line was completed and Bickenbach Seeheim was opened on 6 July 1895.

During World War II the station was repeatedly target of air raids.

On 31 December 1955, passenger traffic on the railway line Bickenbach Seeheim was adjusted. The freight followed by July 1960. In March 1961, the route was eventually dismantled.

The station building is no longer owned by Deutsche Bahn AG or its subsidiaries.

Infrastructure
