Neighboring communities

Erzhausen bordered to the north by the town of Mörfelden -Walldorf ( Groß -Gerau ) and the municipality of Egelsbach ( Offenbach district ), in the southeast on the district-free city of Darmstadt, and on the southwest by the city Weiterstadt. History

Until 1900

Barrows in the district Erzhausen of about 1500 BC have been drawing attention to the first settlements at that time.

Around 900 AD the place is mentioned for the first time in changing ways of speaking, such as Erardishusen, Erhartzhausen, Ebrichshusen or Erndeshusen. In the oldest document from the Lorsch codex, the municipality bears the name Erhart Stockhausen. In the Middle Ages Erzhausen belonged to the Ulnern of Dieburg.
