Bidar (Lok Sabha constituency)

The Lok Sabha constituency - Bidar is a constituency in elections to the Lok Sabha, the lower house of the Indian Parliament. It is located in the state of Karnataka and covers the entire district Bidar and a smaller part of the district of Gulbarga.

The last election to the Lok Sabha 1,470,507 residents were eligible to vote.

Constituency history

The constituency Bidar was the first Lok Sabha election - 1951, and again from the election in 1962. Until 1956, the constituencies for the state of Hyderabad was one, then to the State of Mysore, before it was renamed Karnataka in 1973. By 2004, the constituency for candidates from lower castes ( scheduled castes ) was reserved.
