Raichur (Lok Sabha constituency)

The Lok Sabha constituency - Raichur is a constituency in elections to the Lok Sabha, the lower house of the Indian Parliament. It is located in the state of Karnataka and covers the eastern part of the district of Raichur as well as most of the district Yadgir.

The constituency is for candidates from the tribal population ( scheduled tribes ) reserved. The last election to the Lok Sabha 1,486,326 residents were eligible to vote.

Constituency history

The constituency was established in the Raichur Lok Sabha Election 1957. Predecessor constituency in the first Lok Sabha election - 1951, the constituency Yadgir. By 1973, the constituency for Mysore State was before it was renamed Karnataka in 1973.
