Bílence

Bílence ( German Bielenz ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located seven kilometers south-east of Chomutov and belongs to Okres Chomutov.

History

Bielenz is of Slavic origin. The name of the place seems to have emerged from the name of the founder. 1355 was the first documentary mention. It is about a yard, probably built by Henry of Bielenz, and a church reported. German citizens came in 1528 after Bielenz. By the end of World War II predominantly German inhabited the place, whose main occupation was agriculture, but also the work in the coal pits in Most ( must) and Chomutov ( Chomutov ). In the 16th century, Jews were added.

Adam Stampach of Steinbach in 1570 bought the castle and sold it to Havel Hrobschitz of Hrobschitz. The village was in 1618 again the Stampach. 1622 the lands were confiscated after a lost battle. Paul Graf Michna of Waitzenau bought in 1626 the lands. But since he does not inhabited castle, fell into this. The rest got the Thirty Years War. Henry Prince of Auersperg united 1766 Bielenz with Roth House. His son was probably built by the baroque castle. It served primarily as a hunting lodge for the lords of Roth House. 1826 was a synagogue and a Jewish synagogue built in Bielenz. The Jews worked as merchants and craftsmen, as well as farmers.

Community structure

The municipality consists of the villages Bílence Bílence ( Bielenz ) Škrle ( Skyrl ) and Voděrady ( Wodierad ). The municipality is divided into the Katastralbezirke Bílence and Škrle.

  • Baroque castle Bielenz from the 18th century, which was built upon the foundation of the original castle.
  • Statue of St. John of Nepomuk from 1750, the patron saint of Bohemia.
