Blatno (Chomutov District)

Blatno ( German plates) lies on the southern slopes of the Ore Mountains in the region Ústí nad Labem Region at an altitude of 660 meters.

History

Established was the place probably in the 12th or 13th century by the Order of Teutonic Knights. The first written record comes from the year 1344 and speaks of Virius Bleystofer comandator in plates. Around this time can be in the vicinity of the castle, the first craftsmen down. Beginning of the 15th century, there were clashes with the Order. This was deeply in debt and also denied the Bohemian king to obey. For the compensation of duty owed to the Crown in 1404 plates from Wenceslas IV was confiscated and handed over to the Brüx Burggrafen Hynek of purchase Fung. During the Hussite Wars was Wilhelm Zajíc Hasenburg owner of the castle. 1587 Blatno was sold to Bohuslav Joachim von Lobkowicz, the owner of Roth House. Five years later, the partially reconstructed village was destroyed by the Swedes.

In 1776 the first school was opened in 1782, the foundation stone was laid for the construction of St. Michael's Church. The population lived mainly from agriculture. 1945, the German population was brought to Laun and sold to Germany in 1946. In 1950 only 186 inhabitants in the village.
