Bilge, Mardin

Bilge (Kurdish: Zanqirt ) is a village in the administrative district Mazıdağı the Turkish province of Mardin. Bilge is located about 28 km northwest of the provincial capital of Mardin and 10 km east of Mazıdağı. Bilge had according to the last census, 125 inhabitants (as at end December 2009).

On May 4, 2009, here the massacre of Mardin occurred within the Kurdish Çelebi - Aşirets. In this case, 44 people were killed, including six children and 16 women. Another 17 people were seriously injured. The massacre is one of the most devastating blood revenge in Turkish history.
