Bill Justice

William " Bill " Justice ( born February 9, 1914 in Dayton, Ohio, † February 10, 2011 in Santa Monica, California ) was an American animator who worked from 1937 to 1979 in the course of 42 years for the Walt Disney Company.

Life

He attended the John Herron to 1935, Art Institute, which is part of Indiana University in Indianapolis today. In 1937 he was employed by Walt Disney, in the following years he worked on films such as Fantasia (1940 ), Bambi (1942 ), Alice in Wonderland ( 1951) and Peter Pan ( 1953) with. In Bambi, he was responsible for the animation of the rabbit Thumper (English: Thumper ) responsible. Also Ahörnchen and authorities Nchen come from his pen.

As a director, he staged mainly in the 1940s and 1950s, several short films, including The Grain That Built a Hemisphere from the year 1943.

In the 1950s he worked as a director at various trick films, three of which are nominated for an Oscar, but were not awarded. From 1965 he devoted himself to the theme park attractions of his employer. He joined in 1979 and retired and lived with his wife Kim in Granada Hills, California. With Justice for Disney, he has published a book about his work at Disney and last lived in a retirement home, where he died a natural death. He is survived by a daughter and a granddaughter.
