Bill Stafford

Bill Stafford ( born August 13, 1939 † 19 September 2001), was an American baseball player who played from 1960 to 1967 in Major League Baseball ( MLB). Stafford was from 1961-1962 a successful pitcher for the New York Yankees, an American major league baseball team from the Bronx, New York City. He won 28 combined games in two seasons. From 1960 to 1962 he played in the World Series 3 times for the New York Yankees. In the third game of the World Series in 1962 against the San Francisco Giants Stafford was the best pitcher. In September 2001, Stafford, died in his hometown at the age of 63 of a heart attack.
