Bill Talbert

Bill Talbert ( born September 4, 1918 in Cincinnati, Ohio; † 28 February 1999) was an American tennis player.

Career

He won four times the American tennis championships in the double (1942, 1945, 1946 and 1948) and was five more times in the final (1943, 1944, 1947, 1950 and 1953). Also at the French Championships in 1950, he was in a double success.

In individual he reached in 1944 and 1945 respectively the final of the U.S. Tennis Championships in Forest Hills.

In 1967 he was inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame.
