Billy and Bobby Mauch

William John Mauch ( born July 6, 1921 in Peoria, Illinois, † 29 September 2006 in Palatine, Illinois ), known as Billy, and his twin brother, Robert Joseph Mauch (* July 6, 1921 Peoria, Illinois, † 15 October 2007 in Santa Rosa, California ), known as Bobby, was American actor.

Life

The Mauch Twins are mainly for the main roles in the film The Prince and the Pauper at the side of Errol Flynn and Claude Rains in 1937 known, based on the novel by Mark Twain.

Billy was the acting active of the twins: he turned to 1949 movies and had been well before 1937, even before the camera, as with The White Angel, while Bobby soon after the beggar boys film ended his acting career. Billy died in September 2006 at his home in Illinois; he had been married over 53 years and had a son. His twin brother Bobby died 13 months thereafter in a retirement home in California; he had been married since 1971, his marriage was childless.
