Billy Currington

Billy Currington ( born November 19, 1973 in Savannah, Georgia; actually William Matthew Currington ) is an American country music singer.

Career

Growing up Billy Currington is in Georgia. He launched several attempts at a music career in the country music capital of Nashville. There he earned in the meantime as a construction worker and stepped on the side. When Mark Wills discovered one of his songs that eventually led to a recording contract with Mercury Records and his debut album, which is named after him and was published in 2003.

Was the first album still a moderate success, with its two country Top 10 singles, the big breakthrough came with album number 2 Doin 'Somethin ' Right. Both the title track and the second single Good Directions brought him to the top of the country singles charts and were placed at number 40 on the Billboard Hot 100 The album itself reached # 2 in the Country and # 11 in the sales charts and sold over a million copies.

His third album Little Bit of Everything brought Currington People Are Crazy in 2008 with his biggest hit. The song became a million-seller and the third country number one hit and reached 27th place he had hitherto been his highest placing in the Hot 100 There were also two Grammy nominations. Despite a second number-one hits, That's How Country Boys Roll, the album as a whole remained somewhat behind the success of the previous album back in 2010 and reached gold for 500,000 copies sold.

This was half a year before the release of album number four Enjoy Yourself. He first came into the top 10 on the Billboard 200, the first single Pretty Good at Drinkin 'Beer was his fifth placing at the top of the country charts.
