Biograph Records

Biograph Records is a recently based in Somerville, Massachusetts American record label which was founded in 1967 by Arnold S. Caplin, later continued by his son Alan Caplin. It specializes in ragtime, jazz and blues music in the catalog Artists represented, for example, Scott Joplin, Jelly Roll Morton, Eubie Blake, Skip James and Son House.

In 2002, biographer Records ( and others, also operated by Arnold S. and Alan Caplin label like melodeon, Center, Regal and Dawn ) of Retropolis Entertainment, a start-up of the former Rhino Entertainment operator Richard Foos and Robert Emmer, bought up. After Retropolis a year later in Shout! Factory has been renamed, the new owners have begun under continuation of the brand name Biograph CD reissue with Biograph material.
