Birdsboro is a place in Berks County, Pennsylvania with 5,184 inhabitants ( 2004). Birdsboro is located about 13 km south-east of Reading and surrounded by the townships Robeson, Exeter and Union.
Attractions
In addition to the birthplace of Daniel Boone exists in Birdsboro the " Brooke Mansion ", a castle-like house, which sprang from the pen of architect Frank Furness.
History
Birdsboro was named after its founder William Bird, a forge built in the 1730s, which soon added joined other metal-processing operations, in 1760 Birdsboro was already a small town and grew into an important center of iron production in the later United States, especially during the American war of Independence. 1872 Birdsboro was incorporated in the same Borough.
