Chad Hurley

Chad Hurley ( born July 21, 1977 in Birdsboro, Pennsylvania) is an American businessman. He became known as one of the founders of the video portal YouTube, the Chief Executive Officer he is today. He is married to Kathy Clark, the daughter of the Silicon Valley entrepreneur and Netscape co-founder James Clark.

Hurley studied graphic design at Indiana University and then worked as a graphic artist for PayPal, where he designed the logo still used today among others.

In 2005, he co-founded with Steve Chen and Jawed Karim YouTube and sold it in October 2006 for € 1.31 billion to Google.

Besides his work on Youtube Hurley occurs as a speaker on ( including the World Economic Forum, 2007) and supports film productions, such as in the controversial film Thank You for Smoking.

2007 Hurley was honored along with Steve Chen of the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences at the 11th ceremony of the Webby Awards as "Person of the Year" with a price.

In August 2013 gave Chad Hurley and YouTube co-founder Steve Chen announced to launch another joint project: "Video App Mixbit ". Hurley and Chen want to mix things up, according to own data with its new mobile app " Mixbit " the mobile market and make applications like Instagram Vine or competition.
