Bishop of Dunwich

The diocese of Dunwich (Latin: Dioecesis Dunvicensis ) was a United Kingdom Situated in today's Roman Catholic diocese based in Dunwich.

History

The diocese of Dunwich was built in 630. It included parts of East Anglia. In the year 673, the area was divided between the Diocese of Dunwich and Elmham the diocese. 870 the bishopric of Dunwich was reunited with the bishopric of Elmham as bishopric of Dunwich and Elmham based in Elmham.

The seat of the diocese of Elmham, Dunwich was moved in 1075 to Thetford and changed the title Bishop of Thetford.

The diocese of Dunwich was the archbishopric of Canterbury, is a suffragan.
