Bizarro World is the fifth studio album by the German melodic death metal band Deadlock. It was published on 25 February 2011 on Lifeforce Records, and brought the band's first chart placement.
Formation
In spring 2010 the musicians began with the pre-production of the album. In addition to the new songs, a cover version of Running Wild song " When Time Runs Out " for a sampler built on. The recordings took place in October and November 2010 held in Slaugher 's Palace studio guitarist Sebastian Reichl, who also took over the production. Drums were recorded at Studio Daily Hero Recordings in Berlin.
Was mixed Bizarro World by Florian Nowak, the mastering done by Alex Kloss. As a guest musician occurs in the song " Paranoia Extravaganza " Hubert Zaindl on the piano. The digipak version of the album also contains remixes of the songs "State of Decay" and "Virus Jones " as a bonus. For the song " Virus Jones " a music video was filmed.
Background
The album title Bizarro World refers to the cartoon character Bizarro. In the world " Bizarro World " (or " Htrae " ) everything is reversed. In an interview with the bassist John Gahlert explained that there are parallels between the world of the fictitious character Bizarro and the earth of the present.
"It 's about how much the world is twisted. Most people eat just what they are accused of. Would they continue to think so much of lies would collapse quickly. Just take our health care system that benefits people in the fact that people are sick. "
"Virus Jones " criticized the pharmaceutical industry that manufactures the drug, although defeat the diseases, but make the patient by the side effects sick again. Bizarro World received mixed reviews from pages of the trade press.
