Bjørnar Andresen

Bjørnar Andresen ( born April 1, 1945 † 2 October 2004) was a Norwegian jazz musician (bass, guitar, banjo).

Life and work

Andresen founded with pianist Svein Finnerud the free jazz lineup Finnerud Trio, which consisted 1967-1974 and was inspired by the music of Paul Bley, Kent Carter and George Russell Jazz theories. With Terje Rypdal and Espen Rud he took in 1970 the album Min bul one. From the 1980s he worked with Nils Økland. Shortly before death Finneruds was formed in 1999, the trio album Egne Hoder.

This was followed by band projects with Jon Eberson and Paal Nilssen -Love ( Mind the Gap 2004), with Jon Klettes formation Jazzmob ( Pathfinder 2003 ). He played in the early 2000s with Thomas and Vidar Johansen Strønen trio Bayashi; Bugge Wesseltoft Paal Nilssen and with -Love Trio Samsa'ra; Furthermore, he worked with Jon Eberson, Terje Rypdal and Espen Rud. In memory of him playing the Crime Time Orchestra three weeks after his death, the album Life Is a Beautiful Monster one that involved, inter alia, Jon Klette and Haker Flaten Ingebrigt.
