Black Mamba (roller coaster)

Looping the Black Mamba

The Black Mamba [ ˌ blækmæmbə ] (English for "Black Mamba " ) is a roller coaster in the theme area Deep in Africa [ di ː p ɪn æfɹɪkə ] (English " Deep in Africa ") of the Phantasialand in Brühl. It is one of the most expensive roller coaster projects in Germany and was opened on 24 May 2006.

Technical

The Swiss manufacturer Bolliger & Mabillard of (B & M) planned path is a so-called inverted coaster in which the train under the rail mounted and the legs are free. The path is not set on a flat surface, but are closely linked through gorges and tunnels with the terrain, similar to the path Nemesis at Alton Towers.

The track was 70 Parts assembled with 0.15 mm manufacturing tolerance. The low manufacturing tolerance not only helps in building, which was begun by four different locations and therefore had to fit together at the end in four places, but also provides a rule for smooth transitions between rail segments. The train rails were filled with sand to ensure a very quiet ride.

In addition to a B & M train relatively typical rollovers as looping, Zero -G Roll and corkscrews ( ie at B & M trains Flatspin ) is the Black Mamba, the first track with a Inclined Immelmann (also Jr. Immelmann called ). In contrast to normal Immelmann element in roller coasters, will not ensure complete overhead drive in Inclined version. Another special feature is a walk bridge through the loop.

In the curves, one of them the closest of the manufacturer, affect up to 4.5 g on the rider. For ten points, guests can experience so-called near misses (German: near misses ), in which the web passes so close to the walls, giving the impression of a collision occurs. The principle used to the structure gauge, however, guarantees that even large passengers safely withstand the closest near miss of about 50 cm. The route is located to approximately 66 % below the normal level in the subject area, which is located 10 m above the lowest point of the track.

The queue at the station is also discussed as the rest of the theme park part " Deep in Africa ". There are along the way waterfalls and streams and lush vegetation and some decorative elements. A complex system of hidden speakers conveyed jungle atmosphere. These animal sounds are played, which virtually move in space by sequential addition of other speakers are driven, which would appear to the acoustic illusion of a locomotive animal.

Just before the station, the path into separate queues for the series 1 and series 2-8 splits. For more corpulent people have the rows 4 and 5 each have a slightly larger seat
