Black Mesa (Oklahoma)

A part of Table Mountain in New Mexico

The Black Mesa is a 1737 m high table mountain ( mesa ) in the U.S. state of Colorado, as well as in the neighboring states of New Mexico and Oklahoma. The Black Mesa consists of basalt and extends over a length of nearly 90 miles and has a relative height of 180 meters above the surrounding terrain. South of Table Mountain from the Cimarron River is accompanied, of the houses near Kenton from the north side next Carrizo Creek. The highest point in Oklahoma is located in the eastern part of the Black Mesa near the border of New Mexico and has a height of 1516 meters.

The highest point in Oklahoma is located on the eastern part of the Black Mesa ( Lage36.931944444444 - 102.997777777781516 ) in Cimarron County, Oklahoma Panhandle in the so-called, the westernmost part of the state. The highest point is marked with a granite monument and is located in a 6.5 -acre nature reserve, the Black Mesa Nature Preserve. In the area of the nature reserve, there are 23 rare plants and eight rare species, it is possible to distinguish four different habitats.
