Blagoje Bersa

Blagoje Bersa (also Benito Bersa, December 21, 1873 in Dubrovnik, † January 1, 1934 in Zagreb) was a composer.

Bersa studied in Zagreb with Ivan Zajc and at the Conservatory of the Society of Friends of Music in Vienna with Robert Fuchs. In 1919 he returned to Zagreb, where he worked as a teacher of composition Academy of Music. Among his pupils was there Milo Cipra. His two operas, the symphonic poems The sun fields and the ghosts, a piano trio and a ballad became known.
