Blase Joseph Cupich

Bubble Joseph Cupich (born 19 March 1949 in Omaha ) is Bishop of Spokane.

Life

The Archbishop of Omaha, Daniel Eugene Sheehan, ordained him a priest on August 16, 1975.

Pope John Paul II appointed him on 7 July 1998 as Bishop of Rapid City. The Archbishop of Saint Paul and Minneapolis, Harry Joseph Flynn, donated to him on 21 September of the same year the episcopal ordination; Elden Francis Curtiss were co-consecrators, Archbishop Emeritus of Omaha, and Charles Joseph Chaput, OFM Cap, Archbishop of Denver.

On June 30, 2010, he was appointed Bishop of Spokane and introduced into the office on 3 September of the same year.
