Bleckmar is a town in the Lower Saxon town of Bergen in the northern district of Celle on the Lüneburg Heath. It is located about three kilometers north of Bergen on the main road 3 and currently has 579 residents. The community of Bleckmar today include the districts Bleckmar and Dageförde.

History

Bleckmar was first documented in 866 under the name Blecmeri. From originally two farms, the farming village developed. In 1820 there were 150 inhabitants. This number rose to over 300 people in 1900. Bleckmar 1910 got a rail connection. The railway line Celle- Soltau was now through the town. Only in 2001 were introduced in Bleckmar street name after a citizen survey, the majority of residents voted in favor. The Meiße flows in a north-south direction through Bleckmar, it was dammed here in a pond and drove formerly a corn mill by hydropower. The old mill building has been restored and converted into a residential building. Dageförde is a small farming village. Here you will find farmhouses in half-timbered style with rich ornamentation beams and stair storage from the 18th century.

On February 1, 1971 Bleckmar was incorporated into the city of Bergen.

Policy

Since 1971 Bleckmar is a town of Bergen. Is represented by Bleckmar Ortsrat and the mayor. The Ortsrat has, inter alia, decision-making powers for the located in the village public facilities, is responsible for the appearance of the village and care of club life and needs to be heard by the city of Bergen on all important matters affecting the village. It is composed of five elected representatives, a native of Bleckmar members of the municipal council and the mayor of the city of Bergen Bergen. Mission

Since 1892, there is the missionary work " Lutheran Church Mission - Mission Bleckmar eV " based in Bergen- Bleckmar. The Independent Evangelical Lutheran Church ( SELK ) is the sponsor of this mission. This Mission is led by the current Mission Director Roger Zieger. His predecessor, Mark Nietzke moved to the parish of St. John the local community. The LKM has sent missionaries to South Africa, Botswana, Brazil, Australia and Germany. In addition there was a special seminar were formed in the missionaries.
