At the center of the TV series is Sid Abbot who is experiencing the normal madness in the family, at work and with the neighbors. The son is afraid of work, the daughter of a real flower child and every weekend the in-laws come to visit. To this end, even the neighbors, Mr. and Mrs. Trevor, with whom you are connected in a kind of love-hate relationship.

Stewart The series developer of the ITV company Thames Television, Harry Driver and Vince Powell added, a new concept in order to: a half-hour comedy series from the life of the middle class. The idea was so successful that a total of 65 episodes created in six seasons over as many years. Only by the death of lead actor Sid James this success in 1976 put an end to.
