Blindsee

The Blindsee is a mountain lake below the Fern Pass in Tyrol. The lake is located at 1093 meters above sea level and is up to 25 meters deep. The Blind, located in Lermoos privately owned a hotel is due to its clear waters as particularly suitable for diving. The nearest town is three kilometers northeast Biberwier, on the municipal area of the lake is located. At the southern part of the lake the Fernpassstraße passes, the direction north via the Lermooser tunnel to Lermoos. From the lake, about 16 km to the north Zugspitze can be seen.

In February 1984, slipped after heavy snow on the north side of Blind Lake from a hillside. Trees, branches and roots spread out on the ice of the frozen lake, which collapsed soon after. Due to the sunken tree trunks along with the clear waters of a mountain lake, this lake is very popular, especially when diving.
