Bloom Energy Server

Bloom Energy Corporation is a U.S. company headquartered in Sunnyvale, California. Bloom Energy has developed and leased the Bloom Energy Server, a box the size of two refrigerators with several high- temperature fuel cells for stationary power supply.

History

Founder of the energy service are former NASA employee KR Sridhar and John Finn, Matthias Gottmann, James McElroy and Tue Nguyen. Sridhar founded Bloom Energy 2002 under the name Ion America used until 2006. The venture capital firm Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers is a major investor of Bloom Energy in the Board of Directors of the former U.S. Secretary of State Colin Powell sitting.

Bloom Energy Server

Bloom Energy server has a nominal output of about 100 kW. The solid oxide fuel cells operate in normal mode between 500 and 1000 degrees Celsius. The cells produce electricity by oxidation of hydrogen, natural gas or biogas and diesel.

Well-known companies such as eBay, Google, FedEx and Wal -Mart use the first device in the test mode.

The current production by oxidation allows a low-emission production of a variety of liquid and gaseous fuels. The current efficiency is 50 to 70 %.

Bloom box

On 23 February 2010, the company introduced a smaller version of your system. The Bloom Box has space in one hand.
