Blue Cross Shield Tower (also Blue Cross - Blue Shield Tower ) is a skyscraper in the U.S. city of Chicago.

Description

1997 already 174 meters high part was completed with 37 floors of the building, the end of 2007 began to build more floors, the final height of 229 meters was achieved in 2009. Full completion was in February 2010. The building has 54 floors that are to be used only for offices. Not far from the Blue Cross Shield Towers is the 1973 built Aon Center, which is 346 meters far higher. The façade was completely encased in glass. The load-bearing elements of the building are made of steel with the exception of the structure core, which is made of reinforced concrete. In the core of the building elevators, pipes and utility shafts are housed, as well as staircases.
