Bo Ericson

Bo Ericson Evert ( born January 28, 1919 in Västra Frölunda, Gothenburg, † February 14, 1970 in Karlstad ) was a Swedish athlete. At a height of 1.88 m his competition weight was 103 kg.

Already Ericson 1941, with 56.66 meters his first Swedish record in the hammer throw on. In the following ten years he was constantly at the top of the Swedish hammer thrower. 1945 Ericson led to the global leaderboard with 56.04 meters. At the European Championships 1946 in Oslo, he won with 56.44 meters and 2.90 meters ahead of his compatriot Eric Johansson the title. In 1947, he threw 57.19 meters with his last Swedish record that would exist until 1955.

At the Olympic Games in London in 1948 he was charged with 52.98 meters and 0.75 meters behind the bronze medal sixth. From 1947 to 1951 he won every year the Swedish league title, but took no further part in the European Championships 1950.
